Among the activities included in the plan: the development of a national program to support carriers to upgrade the rolling stock; changing the methodology for calculating the fare for passengers and buses; combating illegal passenger traffic; route optimization; development of a mobility strategy.

Spinu also said that he will sign an order appointing a new deputy in ANTA, who will be in charge of this program, as well as the digitalization of the sector.

The Minister of Infrastructure also clarified that the new tariffs will be spelled out in another order of the ministry, and that they will be applied in different ways, depending on the status, direction, route, etc.

The Modern Transport program was launched after a series of protests by carriers demanding higher ticket prices, as well as several rounds of negotiations between central authorities and transport operators.
