The Bundestag was outraged because of the “freezing” of Nord Stream 2

The head of the German Bundestag committee on climate and energy, Klaus Ernst, and the official representative of the Left faction on foreign policy, Gregor Gisi, issued a joint statement that the damage from the “freezing” of Nord Stream 2 will affect not only Russia, but also Germany, as well as 12 other EU countries, RIA Novosti reports.

“Energy prices continue to rise steadily. Interestingly, little will change in terms of oil supplies from Russia to the United States,” the statement said.

In addition, politicians have suggested that the conflict in Ukraine is being used by the United States to sell expensive and environmentally harmful liquefied natural gas to the European Union.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz instructed the country's Ministry of Economy to stop the process of certification of the Russian Nord Stream 2 project.

Later, Spiegel announced the suspension of the Nord Stream 2 certification process.

The head of the faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany in the Bundestag, Rolf Mützenich, said that the sanctions against Russia will affect the entire world economy and the international system in the long term.
