Russia - The first stage of the Simferopol route is opened in Crimea

Russia (bbabo.net), - The first 25-kilometer section of the Simferopol - Evpatoria - Mirny highway was put into operation on the section from the capital of Crimea to the village of Skvortsovo.

The construction of the road began in February 2018. It has four transport interchanges, six overpasses, three elevated pedestrian crossings.

At the end of December, the Crimean Roads Service signed a contract with the VAD company, the Tavrida highway contractor, for the construction of the second stage of the highway on the Skvortsovo-Evpatoria section, bypassing the Sasyk-Sivash lake. The project worth 42 billion rubles has already received a positive opinion from Glavgosexpertiza. The route will begin in the Skvortsovo area and will bypass the cities of Saki, Evpatoria, as well as Lake Sasyk-Sivash.

Eight traffic interchanges, 17 bridges and overpasses will be built on the four-lane road of the first technical category with an estimated speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the throughput of the current highway passing through Saki and Yevpatoria will almost double, from the current 14,880 to 27,560 vehicles per day.

The head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov at a press conference yesterday noted that all work on the Simferopol - Evpatoria - Mirny highway will be completed by the end of 2023. This will completely get rid of traffic jams in the section from the city of Saki to Evpatoria.
