Russia (bbabo.net), - First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrey Turchak on Thursday took part in the launch of the modernized aluminum fluoride workshop in Cherepovets. This project of the PhosAgro group, one of the largest Russian fertilizer producers, has become an important milestone on the road to import substitution and will produce 73 thousand tons of aluminum fluoride per year, which will cover 70% of domestic demand for this key product in aluminum production.
“I know PhosAgro as the flagship of the production of mineral fertilizers. A company that annually invests huge amounts of money in the modernization of production, and in practice ensures the food security of our Motherland. PhosAgro celebrated its 20th anniversary and ends the year with the launch of a modernized production of aluminum fluoride. localized in the country by 70 percent of the existing demand, "said Andrei Turchak at the workshop launching ceremony.
Aluminum fluoride, produced by the PhosAgro group, is supplied to Rusal, one of the world's largest aluminum producers. Rusal consumes about 100 thousand tons of aluminum fluoride per year. Previously, the company was forced to import the missing raw materials from Italy and Tunisia, since before the modernization, the Cherepovets enterprise of PhosAgro produced 57 thousand tons of aluminum fluoride per year.
The modernized aluminum fluoride workshop has a number of important environmental parameters. The main raw material for the workshop - fluorosilicic acid (CFVA) - is a by-product of the production of extraction phosphoric acid at the PhosAgro enterprises. When processing KFVK into a product in demand, the fluorine extracted from the apatite concentrate is completely utilized.
Andrey Guryev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of PhosAgro PJSC, stressed the great contribution of the PhosAgro project to the implementation of import substitution ideas, since the modernized workshop will supply most of the aluminum fluoride consumed in Russia, and is also built 90% using domestic equipment.
PhosAgro's Cherepovets plant has already completed another large-scale investment project this year. In November, a large sulfuric acid unit SK-3300 was launched and its own railway station "Cryolite" was opened. Now the company is embarking on the implementation of another long-term project - by 2025 a new ammonia and urea complex with a capacity of 1 million tons of ammonia and up to 1 million tons of urea will be built.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Governor of the Vologda Region, stressed that PhosAgro is making colossal investments in the development of production, and also noted the company's contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.
"This year the volume of tax revenues amounted to about 9 billion - this is a historical record! Your taxes are used to build kindergartens, schools, social facilities, repair roads, develop territories," said Governor of the Vologda Region Oleg Kuvshinnikov .
