Former adviser to Nazarbayev appreciated the actions of the CSTO

Former adviser to ex-president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Yermukhamet Yertysbayev pointed out that the CSTO peacekeepers completed their mission in Kazakhstan. In his opinion, if not for them, the unrest in the country would have continued and would have attracted terrorists from Central Asia and the Middle East to the republic. According to him, without peacekeepers, street fighting would have continued for another week or two.

“It would attract a new number of terrorists. There are a lot of "sleeping" cells in Central Asia, the Near and Middle East. They have communication and logistics built, (they) would have poured here (to Kazakhstan),” Yertysbayev said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

The former assistant to the head of state assessed the decision of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as "absolutely correct."

Yertysbayev pointed out that "the CSTO has demonstrated its efficiency and power to the whole world." As soon as the peacekeepers arrived, the armed protests subsided, the former aide said.

“All terrorists, militants have disappeared,” Yertysbayev concluded.

Earlier it was reported that the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is alive and is conducting "fierce negotiations" with the current head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the redistribution of assets in the country.
