Statue of the country's founding king brought to Saudi Arabia

Saudi businessman Ibrahim al-Sharaida, who is the chairman of the board of directors of Ibrahim al-Sharaida Holding Group, announced the acquisition of a sculpture of King Abdulaziz Al Saud. The cost of the product was 1.2 million rials (320 thousand dollars).

Al-Sharayda posted on his Twitter page a video of the moment the monument was received.

"It weighs nearly half a ton and is made of pure marble," the Saudi businessman said.

According to him, 8 sculptors worked on the monument, led by the Italian Marcos José. It took 18 months to work and transport the sculpture to the kingdom.

However, this news caused bewilderment in Saudi social networks. In numerous comments, Twitter users expressed dissatisfaction with this precedent.

Recall that throughout the reign of the Saudi dynasty, the kingdom strictly opposed any statues of people.
