The speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament urged the country not to relax

The speaker of the upper house of parliament Natalya Kochanova assesses the situation around Belarus as tense, analyzing the situation in the European space. In this regard, she urged "not to relax", speaking on January 27 at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, BelTA informs.

First, the politician explained, "the military infrastructure of an offensive nature is being strengthened in the West, NATO troops are being deployed in the immediate vicinity of the borders of the Union State." Even in post-Soviet times, this has never happened before, she clarified.

According to her, Lithuanian and Polish politicians, currying favor with their foreign patrons, are trying to draw Belarus into political adventures for any reason. “They act impudently and uncompromisingly, disregarding not only international law, their obligations, but also the lives of innocent people. For them, the destruction of foreign statehood is a survival strategy,” Kochanova stated bitterly.

True, the speaker believes that many of the neighbors' provocations are quite predictable. Minsk "is well aware of their financing of the so-called Belarusian opposition, the creation of coordination centers and information networks on their territory, working to destabilize the situation in Belarus. It is here that fugitive traitors find shelter," the parliamentarian recalled.

By the way, she is frankly bewildered by the changed rhetoric of Ukraine, which is being pushed into the flames of the conflict. “Who would have thought that just a few decades after all the horrors that people experienced during the Great Patriotic War, processions with Nazi symbols and swastikas would be held on the central streets of Kiev? Our southern neighbor, unfortunately, becomes the subject of bargaining for Western players, and this cannot but cause us concern," she said from the rostrum of the House of Parliament.

According to her, it is gratifying that in this world there are countries and peoples who, like Belarus, value peace, security and order, are committed to a responsible and honest policy, building long-term mutually beneficial and respectful relations.

Under the current conditions, the speaker believes, "further development of cooperation with Russia, China, the CSTO allies, the CIS, the EAEU, other strategic partners and countries ready for constructive cooperation is extremely important. Together we can withstand any challenges of our time," the Council Chairman is sure Republic.
