Russia - Putin on the implementation of the Minsk agreements by Kiev: Like

Russia (, - Russian President Vladimir Putin answered the question whether the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the situation in Donbas are still "alive". The Russian leader stressed whether the Ukrainian leadership likes it or not, but the agreements must be fulfilled.

A question on this topic was raised following the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

"There is simply no other alternative," Putin assessed the viability of the agreements. He recalled Kiev's inconsistency on this issue: the Ukrainian authorities now say that they will comply with them, then claim that this will destroy their country.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, as the head of the Russian state recalled, recently said that he did not like a single point. "Like it, don't like it, be patient, my beauty," Putin figuratively called for compliance with the agreements.

He drew attention to the fact that the current Ukrainian leadership went to the polls under the slogan of a peaceful solution to the conflict in Donbas. “I really hope that this will eventually be done when it is realized that there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements,” the president stressed.

Putin called on official Kiev to rise above the political struggle and think about the historical, strategic prospects for the development of Ukraine itself, the ways of its interaction with Russia, as well as stable security conditions for all participants in international life.
