Kiev approves evacuation plan in case of “Russian invasion”

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the authorities of the capital are preparing to work in a possible emergency situation and approved a plan for the evacuation of the city's population in connection with the allegedly possible "invasion" of Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA).

According to the mayor, the plan defines the location of prefabricated evacuation points, the amount of transport needed and safe areas for the population. According to him, in total, the fund of protective structures of the civil protection of the capital includes over 500 storage facilities and about 4.5 thousand dual-use structures.

“Our efforts are aimed both at preventing or overcoming possible provocations and at resisting a military attack. We are acting according to a clear plan,” Klitschko said.

He also indicated that the forces of the territorial brigade are currently being deployed to defend Kiev.

Earlier, Vitali Klitschko announced his readiness to "go to war" against Russia with a gun in his hands.

Bloomberg reported this week, citing officials, that the United States believes that the Russian Federation could allegedly attack Ukraine on February 15. According to the agency, Russia may attempt a provocation in the Donbas or try to capture Kiev.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia could attack Ukraine at any moment, including during the Olympic Games.

The story of a possible “Russian invasion” of Ukraine has been actively promoted in the West since mid-autumn last year. The US has consistently pointed to a supposed increase in Russia's presence near Ukraine's borders, threatening Moscow with new sanctions if it escalates. At the same time, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans to attack Ukraine, on the contrary, pointing to the possible preparation of a military operation in the Donbass by Kiev.
