France told about 125 thousand Russian troops on the border with Ukraine

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on the radio station France Inter that the situation around Ukraine is still serious.

According to him, the Russian army is currently continuing to train its forces on the border with Ukraine and has already deployed 125,000 troops.

“The forces concentrated by Russia make it possible to launch an offensive, and this is a reality. At the same time, as far as I know, no decisions were made about this,” said the head of the French Foreign Ministry.

However, Le Drian noted that Moscow can fulfill its promises if it returns troops from Belarus after the joint exercises of the two countries.

“Today, large military exercises begin in Belarus and naval maneuvers in the Black Sea,” the minister added.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron, after a visit to Moscow and Kiev, wrote that he had a “lively and meaningful” dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In the publication, he also emphasized that neither Russia nor Europe is interested in disorder and instability.

On February 7, the French president arrived in Moscow, where he held five-hour talks with Putin. According to the British Daily Mail, Macron made several proposals to the Russian leader during the meeting, which were not agreed upon with NATO and the United States. In particular, to secure a neutral status for Ukraine, thereby excluding the possibility for it to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
