The exchange of views in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin was rich and meaningful. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, commenting on the talks held earlier this week.

"It is necessary to work together to maintain stability, peace and put in place the mechanisms of trust, we are sure of this," the French leader said in a statement published the day before on his Instagram page. Speaking about the situation in Ukraine, the French President stressed that it is necessary to move forward in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. He added that de-escalation and security guarantees on the continent can only be achieved through dialogue.

Recall that the conversation between the two leaders in the Kremlin lasted almost six hours and was devoted to security guarantees, the problem of NATO expansion and the situation in Ukraine. Following the meeting, Putin called the conversation meaningful and useful. The Russian President also noted that the dialogue with the US and NATO on security guarantees is not over. Russia will continue to seek a response to the key points of its initiative and will soon send its response to Washington and Brussels.
