Zakharova called the subject of negotiations between Russia and NATO

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia's goal in negotiations with NATO on security in Europe is the alliance's refusal to create risks for non-member countries. Her words are reported by TASS.

“The budgets that are allocated both for the expansion of infrastructure and for the buildup of NATO military forces near our borders are billions of dollars. It is still connected with the arms race, and, among other things, it captures those areas that were quite stable. The subject of negotiations should be that NATO stops creating risks for other states, in particular for our country,” the diplomat said.

Zakharova added that the North Atlantic Alliance has been expanding its borders and building up forces on the eastern flank for several decades, actively exploiting the "myth of the Russian threat."

Exactly these actions raised the issue of security guarantees before us,” she summed up.

Earlier, Zakharova suggested that the United States had aggressive plans for Ukraine.
