Russia (bbabo.net), - The program for financing the construction and modernization of housing and communal services is launching a new comprehensive mechanism for support and control, which this area urgently needed, said Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Galina Karelova. She promised that the senators would monitor the implementation of this program.

The government previously approved a program to finance the construction, reconstruction and modernization of communal infrastructure facilities.

"According to the Russian Ministry of Construction, the level of depreciation of utility networks in the country as a whole is approaching 60%. The program will open up an opportunity for housing and communal services to reverse the trend of constant lagging behind the pace of renewal of communal infrastructure from the pace of its aging," the press service of the Federation Council quoted Karelova as saying.

It is planned to allocate 150 billion rubles from the National Wealth Fund for modernization.

"In parallel with the implementation of the program, new legislative solutions should also be found that will allow attracting new investors to the housing and communal services sector in order to accelerate the pace of integrated development of the territories," the vice speaker is convinced.

The Council for Housing Construction and the Development of the Housing and Communal Complex under the Federation Council intends to monitor the implementation of the program, Galina Karelova promised. Senators will identify factors that influence its results, after which they will form proposals for updating legislation.
