Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Helga Schmid said that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine will continue to fulfill its mandate in the country without suspension. She wrote about this on her Twitter page.

“I am very grateful for the exceptional work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and the Office of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine. They will continue to carry out their mandates without interruption,” Schmid wrote.

Earlier, information appeared in the media that employees of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe began to leave Donetsk by car. Previously, the American representatives of the monitoring mission decided to leave the region because of the threat of "invasion" from Russia.

The representative of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Rodion Miroshnik, admitted that the recall of the OSCE representatives could be a preparation for a provocation.
