“Now more than ever, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission plays a key role in de-escalation efforts and is the eyes and ears of the international community. We must ensure that he can carry out his entire mandate unhindered,” Burbock wrote.
Earlier, the official representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, spoke about the future format of the work of the mission of the world organization in Ukraine.
Journalists asked Dujarric if there is evidence that the US is withdrawing its staff from the UN mission in Ukraine, similar to the situation with the representation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
He stressed that there are no changes in the presence of the UN in Ukraine.
The day before, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid said that the special monitoring mission (SMM) of the organization in Ukraine will continue to fulfill its mandate in this country without suspension.
