“I can share love even with enemies.” Ukrainian singer explained the photo near the Kremlin

In Ukraine, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest was won by singer Alina Pash. It was added to the database of the radical website "Peacemaker", where they add those who, according to the authors of the portal, are guilty of crimes against the security of Ukraine. Pash has previously been criticized for trips to Crimea and Moscow, as well as for singing in Russian. The singer herself stated that she wants to carry her work to the whole world and is ready to perform in any country where she is called. Pash emphasized that love can be "shared even with enemies." The results of the final of the Ukrainian selection for Eurovision 2022 became known the day before, on February 12. Pash won with the song "Tini Zabutih Predkiv" ("Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors"). The announcement of the results almost turned into a scandal. The presenters could not immediately announce the results of the voting and were playing for time, and the table with points at some point disappeared from the screen.

Judges Jamala, Tina Karol and director Yaroslav Lodygin manually calculated their scores and the results of the audience's voting. As a result, rappers from the Kalush Orchestra received 14 points, and Alina Pash - 15 points. At a press conference, the leader of the Kalush Orchestra group, Oleg Psyuk, said that the voting results were false, and the artists were ready to seek the truth through the court.

The very same winner Alina Pash got into a series of scandals, not related to the dubious outcome of the selection. The singer performs part of the composition in Ukrainian, part in English. In particular, Pash sings that her "free people" have been "living amid adversity" for a century, but she believes that her homeland "will sprout like golden wheat."

The day after the selection, the finalist explained why she went to the Crimea in 2015, and was photographed in Moscow in 2017.

Pash explained that she was in Crimea for a wedding. “We went to a wedding. Really, for a wedding to a Ukrainian. All the necessary evidence, certificates are there, ”the singer emphasized.

According to Pash, she did not break the law. The performer indicated that her opponents would not be able to “dig up” the reasons why she could be removed from participating in Eurovision.

The publication "Suspilne" wrote that in 2015 the artist performed at a private event of Ukrainians in Crimea, and the border was crossed from Ukraine. Thus, the singer did not violate either Ukrainian legislation or the rules of the European competition.

As for the photo in Moscow, where Pash starred Square, the singer called this case a prank. She drew attention to the fact that in the picture she is standing against the backdrop of the Kremlin in a T-shirt with the inscription "Kyiv".

“People didn’t understand the prank… I wanted to show the middle finger to this whole system, to show that Kyiv is spelled correctly, not Kiev,” the singer explained.

She apologized for the fact that people might not "grab" the message of the joke and misunderstand it.

The artist added that she promotes Ukrainian culture in her work, so she is surprised by the accusations that she is an enemy of Ukraine and a supporter of Russia. “Alina Pash sings in Ukrainian, speaks Ukrainian, she is from Transcarpathia, she creates culture, traditions, and will do it,” Pash summed up.

The singer called on Ukrainians to unite, and not to look for an "evil witch" in her. “I will comment on everything that is now raging around the national selection: you are not my enemies, nor am I to you,” the singer said.

Earlier, the artist said that she was ready to perform in any country. She emphasized that she would fight for her music.

“I will fight for my music and go wherever I am invited with it, if I see fit. I want to share my music. I want to share my culture. I want to share my love. And I can share love even with enemies, ”Pash noted.

Previously, the singer has repeatedly got into scandals because of her “pro-Russian”, according to her opponents, actions. So, in 2018, Pash performed in Moscow at the Bosco Fresh Fest. In 2020, she recorded a cover in Russian for Bogdan Titomir's song "Do as I do".

In 2019, Pash was added to the database of the scandalous Ukrainian website "Peacemaker" due to a trip to the Russian Crimea. The authors of the site indicated that they added Pash "for knowingly illegally crossing the Ukrainian border to visit the occupied Crimea." The “Peacemaker” database publishes the data of people whom the portal accuses of crimes against the security of Ukraine. Ukrainian radicals are guided by the list of the site as a list of enemies of Ukraine.
