Russia - Pushkov: Hungarian EU statement reflects public sentiment

Russia (bbabo.net), - Alexei Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, commented on the statement of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the expediency of the country's stay in the European Union.

“I suppose this is political rhetoric for now, but it is also indicative,” the Russian senator wrote on his Telegram channel. He noted that until recently the leaders of the EU member states did not allow themselves such doubts. According to Pushkov, these are not just words, but "a reflection of public sentiment in Hungary."

Earlier, Viktor Orban, following the negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, indicated that the policy of sanctions implemented against Russia caused Hungary much more harm than the Russian Federation. Orban also said that 2021 has become the most fruitful year in terms of cooperation between Budapest and Moscow, and the Russian economy is much stronger than is commonly thought in the West.
