Russia - In St. Petersburg, senior and middle classes will return to school

Russia (bbabo.net), - In St. Petersburg, from February 14, students from grades 7 to 11 will return to full-time education. This was stated on his page "Vkontakte" by the vice-governor of the city Irina Potekhina.

Recall that distance learning for middle and high school began on February 2. Initially, the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus indicated that students would study in this format until February 13. Now a decision has been made - remote work for schoolchildren will not be extended.

In Smolny, they explain this by the fact that they managed to achieve two main goals: to break the chain of infections and reduce the incidence of childhood diseases by one and a half times. In addition, the number of cases in which children are admitted to hospitals has decreased. Now in infectious diseases hospitals for children, 36 percent of beds are free. In addition, if two weeks ago five thousand teachers were on sick leave in St. Petersburg, now there are three thousand.

All this, according to Smolny, allows schools to return to the usual format of work. But if there are still a lot of sick people in some specific classes, then the administration of educational institutions can still send them to a distance.
