The US Embassy in Kiev will be temporarily moved from Kiev to Lviv, announced the head of the State Department, Anthony Blinken.

"We are in the process of temporarily moving the operations of the embassy in Ukraine to Lvov," Blinken said in a statement, TASS quoted him as saying.

He explained this decision by "a dramatic acceleration in the build-up of Russian forces" on the border with Ukraine.

American media report that computer equipment, network equipment, and information storage devices are now being destroyed in the Kiev diplomatic mission. The State Department did not comment on this information.

"We look forward to returning our staff to the embassy [in Kiev] as soon as conditions permit," Blinken concluded.

Recall that Moscow has repeatedly denied the very possibility of any aggression against a neighboring state, nevertheless, Western diplomacy continues to exaggerate the topic of "inevitable invasion."
