Britain transferred part of the diplomats from Kiev to Lviv

The UK has transferred some diplomats from Kiev to the western part of Ukraine, to Lviv, but maintains a diplomatic presence in the capital. This was stated by British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to Sky News.

“We have transferred some of our employees to the west of Ukraine, to Lviv, but we maintain a presence in Kiev. We will continue (to preserve it), but we are constantly studying the situation in Ukraine,” said the head of the British Foreign Office.

It is also planned to temporarily move the American diplomatic mission in Ukraine to Lviv. At the same time, the Wall Street Journal, citing American officials, wrote that the staff of the embassy in Kiev must destroy network equipment and computers before moving - such an order came from the State Department.

The World Bank is temporarily removing staff from Ukraine, fearing for their safety amid reports of hypothetical Russian aggression.

The story of a possible “Russian invasion” of Ukraine has been actively promoted in the West since mid-autumn last year. The US has consistently pointed to a supposed increase in Russia's presence near Ukraine's borders, threatening Moscow with new sanctions if it escalates. At the same time, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans to attack Ukraine, on the contrary, pointing to the possible preparation of a military operation in the Donbass by Kiev.
