Russian military began exercises with combat helicopters in Tajikistan

The Russian 201st military base located in Tajikistan has begun exercises with Mi-8MTV5-1 and Mi-24 combat helicopters. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the statement of the Central Military District (TsVO).

It is noted that during the maneuvers, the Russian military improve their survival skills, both as part of the crew and individually.

“Particular attention is paid to parachute jumps, long passages, overcoming various obstacles, including water ones,” the report says.

At the end of the exercise, the skills of survival in the wild during the day will be worked out. The pilots will have to get their own water and food, make fire and equip places for the night, they said in the Central Military District.

The 201st military base is the largest military facility in Russia located outside its borders. It is deployed in two cities - Dushanbe and Bokhtar.

In January, exercises were held in Tajikistan with the participation of 1,000 servicemen of motorized rifle units of the 201st Russian military base.
