Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR does not correspond to the Minsk agreements, RIA Novosti reports.

“Of course, recognition does not correlate with the Minsk agreements. This is true," Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the implementation of the Minsk agreements a key task in the current situation.

Earlier, Peskov noted that Russia does not violate the Minsk agreements due to the issuance of passports to citizens of the DPR and LPR.

Peskov also talked about Vladimir Putin's reaction to the appeal of the State Duma deputies with a proposal to recognize the independence of the Donbass republics.
