Russia - Seven polar bears driven away from Chukotka village

Russia (bbabo.net), - In Chukotka, employees of the "Bear Patrol" drive polar bears away from the village of Neshkan. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a representative of the EDDS.

Earlier, the administration of the Chukotsky municipal district confirmed that seven predators settled near the village a few days ago.

"They came from the western side of the village. There is one male, two females and four cubs among them, they don't come close to people, but they don't leave themselves either. They tried to drive them away, but they start behaving aggressively," Anastasia, the head of the Neshkan rural settlement, said. Kerginvat.

Bears managed to drive away at a decent distance from housing. The local "Bear Patrol" monitors the situation on an ongoing basis and does not allow the Arctic predators to approach people.
