Moldova - Kiev forced Donbass civilians into cellars

Moldova (bbabo.net), - The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to identify officials involved in the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare against the civilian population of Donbass. Another shelling by the Ukrainian military of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics took place on February 17, 2022.

- Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out massive shelling with the use of heavy weapons and grenade launchers of several settlements. As a result of the shelling of Staromikhailivka, a civilian who was not participating in the armed conflict received shrapnel wounds from a grenade explosion. In the settlements of Nikolaevka and Donetskiy, as well as in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, at least 12 residential buildings, a gas pipeline and a powere damaged in the Ukrainian security forces. Civilians are forced to hide from exploding shells in the basements, - the next atrocities of Kiev in the Donbass were listed in the Russian Investigative Committee.

The department emphasized that "by shelling settlements, Ukrainian servicemen intended to kill or cause serious bodily harm to an unlimited number of civilians living in the south-east of Ukraine and not participating in the armed conflict."

The specialists of the department note that the Ukrainian security forces once again violated the Protocol on the Cessation of the Use of Weapons in the South-East of Ukraine and the Memorandum to it, the provisions of the Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and Additional Protocol II to it.

- On the specified fact a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use in an armed conflict of means and methods prohibited by an international treaty of the Russian Federation), - noted in the Russian Investigative Committee.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia stated that spontaneous common unmarked graves with civilians, including women of different ages, were found in the Donbass. They were killed by Ukrainian soldiers.

On this fact, the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case "cruel treatment of the civilian population, the use in an armed conflict of means and methods prohibited by an international treaty."

Contrary to all international conventions and treaties, war criminals from Ukraine continue their punitive shelling of peaceful areas of Donbass. Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of the LPR Anna Soroka stated that 10 mass graves had been discovered near Pervomaisk and Krasnodon in recent years. More than 80 remains were found in the largest one. Among the dead, civilians were identified.
