The Security Council of Ukraine described the situation in the Donbass

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), called the situation on the demarcation line in Donbas tense. He wrote about this Facebook page.

As Danilov noted, he and the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov have been in the region since the morning. They study the situation and hold meetings with the Ukrainian military.

“Regarding the general situation, it is certainly tense, it is felt along the entire demarcation line. The number of attacks is on the rise,” the official said.

He added that there is an attempt to provoke a military conflict in the region, which will force Kiev to start negotiations with the self-proclaimed republics of the DPR and the DPR, as well as with the Russian side.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that the Ukrainian army is “mentally” ready to stop any enemy.

In recent months, there have been statements in the West and Kiev in particular about Russia's allegedly impending "invasion" of Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans for an attack, and reports from Western media and officials about the preparation of an attack are called unfounded and untrue.
