The European Union announced the Soviet style of thinking of the leadership of Russia

Russia's desire to discuss security issues on the European continent with the United States, not the European Union, is a relic of the era of the Cold War and the division of the world between two superpowers. This point of view was expressed in an interview by the speaker of the European Commission, Peter Stano.

“This is the Soviet way of thinking. The reality of the 21st century is completely different. And Putin has already heard from the United States that they will not discuss Europe without Europe,” the diplomat said.

According to him, Europe is trying to convey this idea to Russia, but the reaction of Russian diplomats "clearly showed that Russia is not interested in a friendly, normal, civilized conversation."

“The main problem is that the Russian political leadership does not understand that in the 21st century Europe is developing solutions that satisfy everyone. They still think in the outdated logic - "here I must win, and you must lose, because if it is the other way around, then we will lose." But in Europe, no one thinks like that anymore,” Stano explained.
