“I don’t pay for gas. I decided not to pay this month and filed a lawsuit with the Appeals Chamber. Many people in court demand to cancel the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, which instructed ANRE to raise the gas tariff retroactively,” Chubashenko said.

The journalist considers such a decision illegal.

"We are waiting for the court's decision," Chubashenko added.

He stressed that "there are precedents and decisions of other judicial instances, which say that tariffs cannot be introduced retroactively."

"The action of the normative act comes into force from the moment of adoption or some date in the future tense, but not in the past. Let me give you an example, one person says to me: Why can't you fill in gasoline and refuel at a gas station?". First, I do not refuse to pay. With gasoline, the situation is as follows: you stop at a gas station, and it says that a liter costs 22 lei. You ask for 40 liters, they fill you up, and at the very end they say: Pay 30 lei per liter," the journalist says.
