Russia (bbabo.net), - Statements that residents themselves initiate shelling in Donbas are heartless and cynical, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, commenting on the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to her, only a "heartless cynic" could do this, given how many people in the DPR and LPR have died over the years.

Zakharova pointed out that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine records shelling, "of which there are much more from the forces controlled by Kiev."

The diplomat believes that, probably, for this reason, Washington withdrew the American observers from the mission. They could accuse the government of lying.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have intensified shelling of Donbass from heavy weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Infrastructure facilities are being bombed. As a result of the shelling, the South-Donbass water conduit was damaged. More than 40 cities and towns on two sides of the line of contact may be left without drinking water.

The Ukrainian military fired mortars at two more settlements in the Donbass. 38 shells with a caliber of 122 millimeters were fired at the village of Leninskoye, and 15 mines with a caliber of 120 millimeters were fired at Belaya Kamenka.
