According to the Lugansk information center, the fighting began at about five in the morning on February 20.
"The militants of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made an attempt to attack the positions of the People's Militia in the area of the settlement of Pionerskoye with the crossing of the Seversky Donets River. As a result of the clash, the enemy suffered losses and retreated," said the official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR Ivan Filiponenko.
As a result, five houses were destroyed. There are victims among local residents.
It should be noted that on the line of contact, units of the Ukrainian army over the past day violated the "silence regime" 49 times in the area of responsibility of the LPR. In the DPR, 11 settlements on the night of February 20 were subjected to mortar attacks. The Armed Forces of Ukraine fired over 150 mines and shells of various calibers.
