Russia - Maternity capital in Karelia can now be invested in gasification of the house

Russia (bbabo.net), - The bill on expanding the scope of regional maternity capital was adopted by the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia. Money can now be used to gasify your home.

The amount of regional maternity capital is now 105.5 thousand rubles. It has been paid from the republican treasury since 2013. It is received at the birth or adoption of a third and subsequent child.

The money can be spent on improving living conditions, paying for a kindergarten, providing disabled children with technical rehabilitation equipment. From January 1, 2021, maternity capital was allowed to be spent on the purchase of domestically produced cars or agricultural machinery. A special problem is gasification. In Karelia, there is a large length between urban settlements, a low density of residence. This becomes an obstacle to the flow of gas to cities and towns: there is no appropriate infrastructure.

The main reason why the owners of private houses do not connect to the fuel is the high cost of laying a pipe to the site. As part of the state program, gas distribution networks to the site boundaries are being laid free of charge. But connecting to the fuel inside the site itself and in the house is the prerogative of the owner. It is necessary not only to pay for the work, but also to buy in-house gas equipment. All this results in 150-180 thousand rubles. Not everyone can afford it. Now, parents with three or more children have the opportunity to invest their mother's capital in gasification at home. Karelia has already passed a law on compensation of 80 percent of the cost of equipment for the after-gasification program for families with many children and low-income citizens.

Thanks to the new law, parents will also be able to use maternity capital funds. This, according to parliamentarians, will allow families with many children to save on heating and hot water.

- Funds can be used regardless of whether the child reaches a certain age, - added the Minister of Social Protection of Karelia Olga Sokolova.

Meanwhile, deputies of the regional parliament made another important change to the local law on supporting large families. Now they will be able to provide free plots for personal subsidiary farming and gardening within the boundaries of settlements. Previously, land plots were issued only for individual housing construction.

Those families with many children who are not registered, but have been living in Karelia for more than five years, will also have the right to receive a plot.
