Russia (bbabo.net), - The preparation of the first lawsuit against Ukraine on the water blockade has been completed. This was announced by the head of the committee on legislation of the Crimean parliament, deputy head of the working group on assessing the consequences of the blockade, Sergei Trofimov.
"This fundamental document consists of 18 pages in 11 font," Trofimov told RIA Novosti. According to him, the main plaintiff is the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea. The lawsuit will be filed with the State of Ukraine represented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the State Agency for Water Resources and the North Crimean Canal Administration.
The lawsuit contains a demand to recognize the actions of Ukraine as illegal and to compensate for the damages. Trofimov believes that in March the document will be sent to the Arbitration Court of Crimea.
This lawsuit will be the first in a series of legal claims against Ukraine. It is also planned to deal with damage to the peninsula as a result of energy, transport, food and banking blockades arranged by the Kiev authorities.
Earlier, a working group of the State Council of Crimea estimated the damage to the republican and local budgets, as well as to the sanatorium-resort and tourism sectors as a result of the blocking of the North Crimean Canal by Ukraine in 2014, at 1.4 trillion rubles.
