The European Commission has set restrictions on trade with the DNR and LNR

The European Commission has set restrictions on trade with "uncontrolled areas of the Ukrainian government in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions." It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the official journal of the EU.

It is noted that Ukraine is not able to control the goods coming from these regions, so they do not fall under preferences in the European Union market.

“Operators in the EU are advised not to apply for preferences when importing goods into the EU from regions of Ukraine that are not controlled by the government,” the document says.

Earlier, Vice President of the European Commission Vera Yurova said that she considers it wrong to exclude Russian President Vladimir Putin from the new list of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. In the West, these actions were regarded as a violation of international law, and a number of countries imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation.
