Gavrilitsa: Moldova entered the second stage of assistance to Ukrainian refugees

Moldova (bbabo.net), - As Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa said during a press briefing, Moldova has entered the second phase of assistance to Ukrainian refugees. At this stage, citizens of the neighboring country will need medium-term support, such as social and medical services, education or psychological help, agora.md reports

“At this stage, the Republic of Moldova is beginning to receive support from the international community, and in the coming days, the first mass deliveries of humanitarian aid will begin. The tasks facing us at this second stage will be more difficult,” said the head of the Cabinet.

As previously reported, at the Sunday meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations, a decision was made to establish a Unified Crisis Management Center.

It will complement the efforts of the National Center for Comprehensive Coordination under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which will continue to operate and manage the process of entry and organization of the stay of refugees in the first 72 hours.

The Unified Crisis Management Center will coordinate more multifaceted activities in the second phase and support refugees in the medium and long term.

"This assistance will be provided to refugees who are in temporary accommodation centers, or those who have been sheltered by family members, other relatives or friends. The leaders of the center will coordinate the process of receiving, transporting and distributing humanitarian aid and donations from external development partners, economic agents and individuals,” said Natalya Gavrilitsa.

The work of the Single Center will be supported by the volunteers of the working group "Moldova for Peace", the formation of which was previously announced under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the government. All assistance will be collected through four collection centers, the addresses of which will be announced on Monday.
