Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will hold a funeral service for LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, whose death was announced on April 6.

This was announced by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"Vladimir Volfovich was a deeply religious person. It is symbolic that the primate of our church, Patriarch Kirill, expressed a desire to personally conduct the funeral," he said.

As a source in the LDPR told TASS, Zhirinovsky's funeral will take place at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.

In November last year, Patriarch Kirill awarded the Order of the Russian Orthodox Church to LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky for strengthening state-church relations.
