Saudi Arabia solves technical problems with Hajj tours

The Saudi Arabian authorities have announced that they will take steps to resolve the problems faced by Muslims from Western countries in obtaining trips to the Hajj.

Earlier, IN reported that the government of the kingdom changed the conditions for sending believers from a number of Western countries to the Hajj - Muslims from Europe and the United States had to apply to participate in a special lottery, which determined future pilgrims. The Saudi authorities have launched the Motawif website and given a short deadline of only 4 days for applications to be submitted. Those wishing to register to participate in the lottery encountered technical problems in the operation of the site, when paying for vouchers, and had to listen to an answering machine for hours on the hotline phone number.

After numerous complaints, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said it would provide additional flights for foreign pilgrims who had problems obtaining travel packages, reportedbbabo.net citing ArabNews.

Deputy Minister of Hajj Affairs Hisham Saeed stressed that the problems with the operation of the Motawif website are "solvable and are being resolved."

“I assure you that now you can safely choose a program and a flight, now everything is working,” the deputy minister assured.
