Famous traveler and Islamic figure dies in Saudi Arabia

Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Abudi passed away in Saudi Arabia on Friday at the age of 97.

The Sheikh was a famous Saudi writer, traveler and Muslim figure. He was born in the city of Barid in 1926 and received his early education from local teachers.

Al-Abudi worked as a teacher, then director of the Institute of Science in Buraydah, and after about 13 years as the general secretary of the Islamic University in Medina, becoming the director of the educational institution.

In the 1990s, he took the position of assistant secretary general of the Islamic World League and often visited Russia, where he traveled to many regions and contributed to the revival of Islam after the country's atheistic past.

Sheikh Muhammad Al-Abudi has hundreds of published works, as well as 160 books about his many travels around the world.
