There will be no tanks: Spain will not transfer its Leopards to Ukraine

The Spanish government has decided not to transfer the previously promised Leopard tanks to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported on August 2, citing Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles.

According to Spanish media, earlier the country's leadership was preparing to supply Kyiv with ten Leopard tanks and twice as many M113 armored personnel carriers. It was assumed that the equipment would be transferred to Ukraine from conservation warehouses in Spain.

However, according to the minister, during storage, military equipment finally fell into disrepair:

"We are still exploring all the possibilities, but I can already tell you that the Leopard tanks, which have been stored in Zaragoza for many years, cannot be transferred because they are in absolutely deplorable condition," Robles said.
