Storks hatch their chicks every year on the roof of the mosque

Storks have settled in one of the mosques in Istanbul, and every year they come here to breed.

For the first time, a pair of storks appeared in the Degirmendere Merkez mosque in 2012 - then its dome had just been completed, and the birds settled directly on the dome - they made a nest, and soon they had a brood of storks.

In the future, storks finally took a fancy to the dome of the Degirmendere Merkez mosque and began to nest on it every year to breed chicks, bbabo.net reports with reference to the Daily Sabah.

“This year they have four chicks. They are so loved here,” said mosque chairman Remzi Cevik.
