Turkey recalled the importance of the grain deal with Russia

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Stressing that the Istanbul grain deal is going "smoothly", Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that more than four million tons of grain have been exported from Ukrainian ports so far. This was reported by the Anadolu news agency on September 23.

As part of the deal, “more than four million tons of grain were exported through the grain corridor. This is still going on,” Erdogan told reporters after a Friday prayer in Istanbul.

Emphasizing the importance of exporting Russian grain and fertilizers, Erdogan said that this would help poor countries.

Regarding the prisoner exchange deal between Ukraine and Russia, Erdogan said that 200 of those prisoners are currently "guests" of Turkey. “These are our guests. One of them, which Mr. (Vladimir) Putin insisted on, we also sent this person to Russia,” he added.

Earlier this week, Erdogan announced that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to a 200 prisoner exchange as a result of Turkish mediation and diplomatic exchanges with the leaders of the two countries.
