Filming for 'Saudi Idol' to start in October

Saudi Arabia launches Saudi Idol television music project, which is the Arabic version of the American Idol singing competition popular in the United States.

The Kingdom's General Entertainment Authority, together with the Saudi media conglomerate MBC Group, have already announced that they are recruiting people to participate in the project, which will begin filming in October. The first season will start airing on Saudi TV in December.

The jury of the project will consist of 4 Arab celebrities - Saudi singer Asil Abu Bakr, Emirati singer and actress Ahlyam, Syrian singer Asala and Iraqi-Saudi singer and composer Majid al-Muhandis, reported bbabo.net with reference to ArabNews .

Interestingly, the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority did not correct the Western format of the title of the project, which contains the word "idol", which has a clear negative connotation for Muslims. As you know, idolatry in Islam is the gravest sin, and religiously practicing Muslims avoid worshiping any celebrity idols.
