“Some media reports talk about training activities for Ukrainian military personnel in Italy. In this regard, it should be noted that no training was provided in Italy. To date, the Defense Ministry has deployed only four troops to Germany as part of a European group that is currently planning possible training cycles in the future," the defense ministry said in a statement Thursday.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference on European security issues that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, supplying weapons and training military personnel. Military training, he said, is carried out in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.
