Erdogan and Sunak discussed Ukraine

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed that the support of the Ukrainian population is needed in the conditions of the coming winter. This is stated in a message released by the office of the head of the British government following his conversation with the Turkish leader on Friday.

“The Prime Minister shared his thoughts on a recent trip to Kyiv, and they agreed on the importance of maintaining the support of Ukrainians in a situation where they face a harsh winter,” the message says.

At the same time, Sunak "reaffirmed his support for the rapid entry of Finland and Sweden into NATO and welcomed Turkey's support for their accession plan, approved at the NATO summit in Madrid."

It is noted that both leaders welcomed the "strong partnership and strengthening economic ties between the UK and Turkey" and called for the removal of trade barriers between the countries and increased investment.

On December 2, Sunak held a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamada Al Thani. The British prime minister, according to his office, noted the "importance of developing a strategic partnership" between countries in the face of "global and regional threats." He referred to them, in particular, the conflict in Ukraine.
