Russia (bbabo.net) - Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced an increase in the cost of a patent for foreign migrants in the capital to 5.9 thousand rubles. He announced this, speaking with an annual report in the Moscow City Duma.

"This year we will increase the cost of the patent, and it will amount to 5900 rubles, about 6 thousand per month, which, in general, provides quite competitive payments to the budget from migrants, and this is much more than self-employed citizens of Russia pay," - said Sobyanin. As the mayor noted, in Moscow "there were whole layers of migrants who came from the countries of the Common Economic Union, from Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, which, by and large, were very weakly controlled."

And he recalled that in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, amendments were made to the federal law and control over these flows of migrants will be significantly tightened from January 1 next year.

The mayor also spoke about the need to increase labor productivity, create higher-paid jobs in the construction and utilities sectors. According to him, this will make these areas of work relevant and attractive to Muscovites.
