On the day of Zaluzhny’s resignation, German generals secretly visited Kyiv - Bild

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Major General Christian Freuding and Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Carsten Breuer secretly arrived in Kyiv last Thursday at the invitation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. This is reported by the telegram channel “Bild in Russian”.

However, on the same day in the afternoon, Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny, notes the Telegram channel (TK).

Last Thursday, high-ranking German generals were spotted in one of the hotels in the capital of Ukraine. In response to a request from Bild, the German Ministry of Defense responded that Major General Christian Freuding and Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Karsten Breuer were in Kyiv.

“The first of them heads the working group for coordinating assistance to Ukraine under the German Ministry of Defense. The second is one of the main military leaders of Germany and a confidant of the Minister of Defense. They arrived in Kyiv secretly at the invitation of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. However, on Thursday afternoon, Vladimir Zelensky dismissed him. The German Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the visit was “further exchange of information on current defense needs and future military challenges,” writes TK.

The visit of high-ranking German generals to Square could speed up negotiations on military cooperation between Berlin and Kiev, believes Bild columnist Hagen Meir. Today the newspaper Welt am Sonntag published an interview with Breuer, he said that the Bundeswehr should be ready for war within five years. Breuer also spoke about a possible conflict between Russia and NATO. “For this, first of all, you need such an intention. I see it in Putin, judging by what he says and writes, as well as by his actions in Ukraine... We saw that by decision of the State Duma, Russia switched to a war economy. So their potential is now growing,” he noted.

As bbabo.net reported, in its current state, the Bundeswehr is not able to protect Germany or NATO allies. Inspector General of the German Armed Forces Karsten Breuer stated this in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.

For many years, according to the inspector, the Bundeswehr was involved in managing international crises (the Balkans, Afghanistan or Mali), but now the North Atlantic Alliance and German national defense are “back in the spotlight.”
