Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The UN and the OSCE are obliged to conduct investigations in connection with the available information about the crimes of Polish border guards against refugees, according to the appeal of the Belarusian Peace Fund.

Earlier, the detained 25-year-old Polish border guard Emil Chechko asked for political asylum from the leadership of Belarus, criticizing the tough actions of the authorities of his country in relation to refugees.

Speaking on Belarusian TV, the border guard said that his colleagues are systematically killing refugees. They also killed two volunteers, he added. Chechko also admitted that he was ordered to shoot refugees.

The issue of granting Chechko the status of a political refugee has not yet been accepted in Minsk. At home, he was prosecuted on charges of desertion. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
