Former NTV TV presenter recognized as terrorist

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Rosfinmonitoring announced that journalist Evgeny Kiselev (previously recognized as a foreign agent), who at one time hosted new programs on the NTV channel, was added to the list of extremists and terrorists.

As RBC recalls, Kiselev is 67 years old; he began working on television in the 1980s. An orientalist by education, he began his career in the Main Editorial Office of Broadcasting to the Countries of the Near and Middle East of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. He was one of the founders of the Vesti program. In 1992–2003 he hosted the “Itogi” program. He held senior positions at the NTV television company, from where he left after a change of owners. Subsequently, he worked for TVS and hosted programs on Ekho Moskvy and RTVI.

In 2009, the journalist moved to Ukraine, where he worked on the Inter TV channel until 2016. Until 2022, he hosted the author’s program “Real Politics with Yevgeny Kiselyov” on the Ukraine 24 channel. Now he runs his own YouTube channel.

Materials on Kiselyov’s resources, along with other Ukrainian media, today are clearly anti-Russian in nature.

Earlier it was reported that Russian media manager and TV presenter Tina Kandelaki was banned from entering Kazakhstan.

The arsonist of the military registration and enlistment office in St. Petersburg received a harsh sentence

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - A pensioner who set fire to a military registration and enlistment office in St. Petersburg, following orders from scammers, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a terrorist attack, reports the Shot Telegram channel. The 67-year-old woman was convinced to set fire to arson by swindlers who promised to return the money stolen from her.

On the evening of August 1, Zhumagul Kurbanova approached the entrance of the military registration and enlistment office on English Avenue, doused the door with flammable liquid and set it on fire. The next day she was detained.

The arsonist told investigators that shortly before the arson, the scammers stole her savings, which they promised to return with an additional payment of 50 thousand rubles if the woman set fire to the military registration and enlistment office.

At first, Zhumagul was charged with damage to property, since the military registration and enlistment office was damaged in the amount of 91 thousand rubles, but later the criminal case was reclassified as a terrorist attack. The accused compensated for the damage, admitted her guilt and repented. Despite this, the First Western District Military Court of St. Petersburg sentenced her to 10 years in prison in a general regime colony.
