Ukraine (bbabo.net), - It is high time for the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to realize that he is just “another line in the list of victims of the American system and hostages of the electoral process in the United States.” This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

In her Telegram channel, the diplomat drew attention to Zelensky’s statement, in which he admits that he “has become a hostage of the electoral process in the United States.”

“And there were no elections in the United States until 2024, right? Or is it that the presidential elections that did not take place in Ukraine have been moved to the United States? I understand that Zelensky wants to think that he is the only one, and everything revolves around him, but no. He is just one line in a long list of victims of the “American elections,” or, more precisely, of the American system. One of those who was firmly convinced that the States were their allies,” she stated.

In this regard, Zakharova cited several quotes from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who had previously warned about the harmful impact of the US elections on external processes. In particular, the head of Russian diplomacy pointed out that “it is not the first time that serious international problems affecting many members of the world community have become hostage to electoral cycles in the United States,” calling this approach “very short-sighted.”

“It’s sad when these never-ending election cycles begin to make almost everything else hostage to American domestic political infighting. Every two years, elections are held, at which something must be arranged so that the enemy feels defeated,” Lavrov also noted.

“We warned. “Mr. Nu” [Zelensky] just didn’t want to understand this. Or he couldn't. Now it’s starting to sink in,” concluded Zakharova.
