Russia - Residents of Orenburg painted a snow card on the banks of the Urals

Russia (bbabo.net), - Residents of Orenburg supported the "Miracles on Ice" action dedicated to the memory of Valery Melnikov, a pensioner from the Amur Region, who created ice postcards for fellow countrymen. Despite the severe frost - on Saturday the air temperature in the region dropped to minus 28 degrees - about 30 townspeople came to the bank of the Ural River.

As I already wrote, the founder of the good New Year's tradition was the people's artist from the village of Markovo, Amur Region. A lonely pensioner who lost his hearing 20 years ago, every winter, in frosts and snowstorms, he took a shovel, went to the Khomutina River and painted on the ice so that people would smile. And when Valera's grandfather passed away a year ago, fellow countrymen created a huge ice postcard in memory of him. Residents of other regions of the country also joined the Amur people.

This year the action was supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. These days, winter postcards are drawn in different cities of the country - Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk.

In Orenburg, the action took place at the bridge across the Urals, connecting Europe and Asia. Since the ice on the river had not yet matured, the postcard had to be created on the bank. After an hour and a half of work, an image of the main symbols of the New Year and Orenburg appeared here - a huge Christmas tree, an Orenburg headscarf and an astronaut (as you know, Yuri Gagarin was a graduate of the local flying school).

- I first saw the postcard of Valery's grandfather from the Amur Region about five years ago. I liked it very much! - said Yegor Bortnikov, deputy head of the Directorate of Specially Protected Areas of Regional Significance in the Orenburg Region. - So I decided to take part in the action. I wanted to spend it on the ice, but the Ministry of Emergency Situations forbade it. But I still think that we managed to do something kind and good before the New Year.

Along with the adult shovels, children also wielded. According to the participants, due to the active work in the fresh air, they were hot. But now the image created in the snow will cheer up everyone who drives along the main city bridge.

- Everyone is waiting for a miracle before the New Year. Such actions help to plunge into childhood, remember how I walked through the snowdrifts, painted in the snow, sculpted snowmen ... - said one of the "artists" Ilnur Mutagarov. - I hope that this will become a new tradition in Orenburg.
