Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - State Duma Deputy Sultan Khamzaev called for a gradual ban on the sale of tobacco products in order to improve the health of the Russian population, which is one of the most smokers in the world.

According to the parliamentarian, for this purpose, a ban should be introduced on the sale of tobacco to citizens born after 2014, RIA Novosti reports.

As an example, he cited the experience of a number of European countries that followed the path of banning the sale of such goods (conventional and electronic cigarettes, aikos, snus, hookahs, vapes) to those who were born eight years ago and later.

"I believe that this is the correct practice. That is, never sell tobacco to those born after 2014," the deputy added.

He added that for smokers, measures should be softer, unlike those who have not yet become addicted to this harmful occupation - they need to be protected from it.

Earlier, Khamzayev urged to clear the cities of alcohol stores and move them to the region.
