Pentagon chief said he easily tolerates COVID-19 thanks to vaccination

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who has contracted the coronavirus, said he was looking forward to his return to full-time work. The Pentagon chief noted that thanks to vaccinations, he gets sick easily.

"I am very glad that I am fully vaccinated and underwent revaccination," Austin quotes TASS. According to him, doctors believe that due to this, Austin's illness passes in a much milder form.

Austin, 68, announced COVID-19 on January 2. It was reported that he will continue to work and take part in a virtual format in key meetings and events. In face-to-face meetings, he is temporarily represented by First Deputy Kathleen Hicks.

According to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, Austin is actively working, and his condition does not cause fears among doctors. The minister did not even have to be taken to the military medical center for examination, "he is recovering at home."
